He is involved in all areas of technology planning, ranging from short-term assessments of technology development and/or acquisition, to assessment of specific technology areas (e.g., combustion systems, environmental technologies, high performance materials, information systems, etc.), to the planning and establishment of new organizations and structures for commercialization of technology.
Development and implementation of commercialization strategy is an area of specialty for Dr. Ungar. He has experience with several large and small-sized companies including negotiating joint venture agreements, stockholder agreements and licensing terms. Two such ventures which are operating successfully are Photonics Integrated Research, Inc. and Integrated Building and Construction Solutions, Inc.
