Mr. Howard Mueller, Senior Consultant
As an energy consultant with over 30 years of experience, Mr. Mueller has provided services to wholesale and retail energy businesses that include corporate and business unit strategy, technology strategy, technology program planning and technology project evaluation, M&A strategy and business design, and organizational design. He has been extensively engaged in electric grid-related development and investment as well as plug-in electric vehicle and energy storage technology developments.
Mr. Mueller has worked with most of the top ten market capitalization power companies, a wide range of mid-cap investor-owned companies, as well as Federal, public, and cooperative power companies and international utilities. He has supported federal- and state-level energy research, development and investment planning. He has specialized in providing support for the technical assessment "due diligence" by assessing technology in terms of its value under current market conditions and market timing and by evaluating the relative strengths and weaknesses of specific technology developers and corporations.
Mr. Mueller has written, provided expert testimony, and spoken extensively on utility strategic planning, wholesale and retail market strategy, and energy markets generally. He has taught energy economics and utility planning and management courses at the University of Cincinnati, the University of Maryland, John Hopkins University, and Stanford University.
