Mr. Chuck Meadows, Director
Mr. Meadows combines over 25 years experience in industrial systems integration with a business assessment and development background for technology implementation and strategic commercial deployment. He has designed, built, programmed and managed applications of hardware, software and industrial equipment for manufacturing, industrial, automotive and business systems. Areas of expertise include computer hardware, firmware, software, systems integration, GIS, advanced electronics, sensors and control technologies, data and telecommunications, manufacturing, materials fabrication and printing technologies.
As a business and technology analyst, Mr. Meadows has been a reviewer for the Ohio Department of Development Third Frontier Program competitions since 2002. Review work has included reading, evaluating, scoring and ranking applicant proposals involving technology assessment and commercialization for competitions including the Technology Action Fund, the Third Frontier Action Fund, the Wright Capital Projects Fund, the Wright Center for Sensor Systems Engineering and the Ohio Research Commercialization Grant Program. Specific competitions have included Third Frontier programs for Fuel Cell, Advanced Energy, Photovoltaic, Advanced Materials, Sensors, Biomedical, and Medical Imaging.
Mr. Meadows has been a reviewer for the Ohio Department of Development Innovative Ohio Loan Fund (IOF) since 2004. Reviews of IOF loan applications have included technologies in Advanced Materials, Instruments, Controls and Electronics, Power and Propulsion, Biosciences, and Information Technology. Mr. Meadows has also been a reviewer on applications to the Ohio Department of Development Targeted Industry Attraction Grant Program (TIA) since the program began in 2006. The TIA program is focused on technology companies in Advanced Polymers, Biotechnology, and Fuel Cells where the applicants are usually from outside the State of Ohio.
Asset management project work for electric and gas utility companies has included advising on software and database development and process logic, specifying, designing and building hardware systems for GIS mobile mapping and tracking applications, advising on GIS applications for weather forecasting, damage assessment and predictive outage management, and GIS mapping transformations to convert isolated systems for use with real-world coordinates.
Mr. Meadows has worked with utility companies and their industrial customers to identify opportunities and provide support for electrotechnologies in materials fabrication and advanced information and communication technologies. Market research for utility companies has included identifying and profiling industrial customers for product, process, and technology applicability matches.
