Ohio wants to become a major location for research, development, and commercialization of the emerging fuel cell industry. Taratec was engaged to assist the Sate in charting its course of action. Taratec began the process of creating a Fuel Cell Roadmap for Ohio by holding a workshop for the leaders of key organizations within the State involved with fuel cells. The workshop included presentations by representatives of the federal fuel cell programs and break-out sessions where participants were encouraged to share their ideas in a small group setting. Taratec combined these inputs with extensive market research to create a draft strategy that is appropriate for Ohio’s goals, resources, and competitive advantages. The initial draft of this strategy was refined in a review process that involved all key participants. The Roadmap will be used to guide Ohio’s investments in fuel cells over the next 2-5 years as the technology reaches the initial stages of commercialization.
